Who I Am
I have been a storyteller since my youngest days, starting with hand-writing my own newspaper in Grade 2. Since then, I have made writing my life and have learned a few truths that I live by:
Every story, no matter how long or short, deserves to be told well.
When different sources start telling you the same things, you're onto the meat of the story.
Editors hire you to solve their problems, not create more of them. So always be on deadline, on topic, and within the assigned word length! -J.C
Mazzy Beasley is James Careless' Contact Research Coordinator. She takes the lead in finding and contacting the experts who provide intelligent, informed insights for his articles. She also manages his fact-checking, obtaining images to accompany his stories, and ensuring that Careless knows who to talk to, when, and where. Like Careless, Beasley is comfortable working across a wide range of industries with professionalism and promptness.
Susan Trott is James Careless' desk editor, ensuring everything is letter-perfect. Ms Trott also looks for new markets and industries where our services are needed. We solve problems for our clients, whether it be getting word out about a new product, or telling an important story to their peers; sometimes it's filling a staff hole, and other times it's building a long-term relationship with the media.
